Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has refused to blame Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas following the club's 3-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The loss heaped yet more pressure on Villas-Boas, but Cech has hinted that the players have only themselves to blame.
"We know that the manager keeps working hard for the team. He prepares for every game with 100% commitment in everything," Cech told Sky Sports News.
"We appreciate it as players. We know that we play a big part of it because we are on the pitch and, in the end, the manager gives you instructions but if you don't do things right on the pitch then you can't help him."
The second leg takes place on March 14.
