Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher claims that Maurizio Sarri has "turned Chelsea into Arsenal".

Former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher has claimed that Maurizio Sarri has "turned Chelsea into Arsenal".

Carragher was speaking at the halfway point of Chelsea's Premier League clash with Manchester City, which the Blues lost 6-0.

City were four goals ahead in the first 25 minutes of Sunday's clash, with Chelsea's defence collapsing under intense pressure from the Premier League champions.

The Blues have now dropped out of the top four in the Premier League table, and Carragher blasted the London club's performance at the Etihad Stadium.

"I called a couple of Chelsea performances a disgrace going into this game, this is as bad as anything," Carragher told Sky Sports News.

"Looking at Sarri, just over halfway through his first season, but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he's turned Chelsea into Arsenal. That Arsenal team that just used to get battered for the last seven or eight years away from home in big games because they were too weak.

"You could never say that about Chelsea, no matter what's gone on, that they've been 'weak,'. We're watching a really weak football team here."

Chelsea have now lost each of their last three away Premier League matches, conceding 12 and scoring zero.
