Middlesbrough and Chelsea end the first half goalless in their FA Cup fifth-round tie at the Riverside Stadium.

There have been no goals in the first half of tonight's FA Cup fifth-round tie between Middlesbrough and Chelsea at the Riverside Stadium.

The winner of the encounter faces a trip to Manchester United in the quarter-finals.

The visitors started well and they had a good chance to take the lead in the eighth minute, but Oscar's chip drifted narrowly wide of the goal.

It took Middlesbrough until the 26th minute to create their best opening as Scott McDonald was wayward with his header from Nicky Bailey's cross.

As both sides struggled to get a hold on the contest, Faris Haroun saw his late effort comfortably saved by Petr Cech.
