How Chelsea could line up against Eintracht Frankfurt

Sports Mole looks at how Chelsea could line up in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Chelsea will be looking to book their spot in the Europa League final when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

The semi-final is delicately poised following a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.

There is no question that Chelsea are the favourites to advance, but Frankfurt have been impressive in Europe's second competition this term and will fancy their chances of shocking the Blues in the second leg.

Chelsea will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 win over Watford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, which sealed their spot in the top four.

Here, Sports Mole has taken a look at how the capital outfit could line up against Frankfurt.

POSS CHE XI vs. FRA

Out: Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles), Antonio Rudiger (knee), Marco van Ginkel (knee), N'Golo Kante (hamstring), Ethan Ampadu (back)

Chelsea will be without the services of key midfielder N'Golo Kante on Thursday night, with the Frenchman suffering a hamstring injury in the early stages of Sunday's Premier League game with Watford.

Kante joins Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger, Marco van Ginkel and Ethan Ampadu on the sidelines.

Gonzalo Higuain was back in the team against Watford but will drop to the bench on Thursday night as Olivier Giroud - top scorer in the Europa League this season with 10 goals - prepares to come back into the XI.

Mateo Kovacic could replace Kante in the middle of the park, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is expected to start having come off the bench to score at the weekend, meaning that Ross Barkley could again be left out.

Elsewhere, Eden Hazard should start on what is expected to be his farewell appearance at Stamford Bridge, with the Belgium international widely expected to join Real Madrid in this summer's transfer window.

Meanwhile, the fact that Willian was left out against Watford suggests that the Brazilian will make the XI for this clash at the expense of Pedro.
