Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Ajax

Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League showdown with Ajax.

Chelsea play their third Champions League group game of the season on Wednesday when they travel to Amsterdam to take on Ajax.

Frank Lampard's men enter the game on the back of five consecutive wins in all competitions, continued at the weekend as Marcos Alonso's second half goal helped them see off Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are currently third in their Champions League group with one win from their opening two matches, while their Dutch opponents are top with two wins from two and two clean sheets to boot.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension list for the West Londoners ahead of their game with Ajax.

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 23 (vs. Ajax)

The tireless midfielder picked up a groin injury while on international duty with France and, although he missed the weekend's game, he could be fit enough for a spot on the bench for Wednesday's trip to the Dutch capital.
