Kris Commons has admitted that he is desperate to earn a place in the Celtic starting lineup for Thursday's Europa League meeting with Inter Milan at the San Siro.
The midfielder returned from injury to score twice in the 4-0 win over Hamilton Academical as Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and he is hopeful that his performance will convince Ronny Deila to keep him in the side for the second leg with Inter.
"Obviously, after being out for two weeks, it's always nice to come back get the three points, a clean sheet and get on the scoresheet," Commons told reporters.
"I can't wait and hopefully I have done enough to get in the starting XI. Whenever you play away in Europe it's always a tough test and if we can get a result out there, it would be a huge achievement.
"We know it's going to be a very difficult task, they are a good team, very experienced. I think we will get chances and hopefully on the night we can keep them at bay and try and not give them many chances but it's good that the boys have given us the chance to go over there and get a win."
Celtic played out a 3-3 draw with Inter in the first leg of the last-32 tie on Thursday.
