Matthew Connolly out for further seven weeks

Cardiff City defender Matthew Connolly is sidelined for a further seven weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.

Cardiff City defender Matthew Connolly has been ruled out for a further seven weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.

The 26-year-old has not played for the Bluebirds since September.

"He has had an operation and he will be about another six to seven weeks, I reckon," BBC Sport quotes manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as saying.

"He's been on crutches ever since I came but the last week he has been starting some rehab."

Cardiff continue their Premier League campaign tonight when they travel to champions Manchester United.
