Phil Parkinson eager to continue building momentum at Bradford City

Phil Parkinson admits that he wants Bradford City to 'keep their run going' after seeing off Aldershot Town in the FA Cup to make it eight games without defeat.

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has urged his players to maintain their positive run of form in order to keep challenging on all fronts.

The Bantams booked their place in round two of the FA Cup on Wednesday evening thanks to a 2-0 win over Aldershot Town at Valley Parade.

Victory for Bradford means that they have now gone eight games without tasting defeat in all competitions, which Parkinson is eager to build on when his side visit Glanford Park at the weekend.

"Saturday is another big game for us and we have to quickly recover from this one," City's official website quotes him as saying. "That means getting the rest periods and the training load right for the players between now and the weekend. The trip to Scunthorpe will be a real test for us but we want to keep our recent run going."

"We are very pleased to get through into the next round. It was a difficult match, as we knew it would be, because Aldershot raised their game again as they did in the first tie. In the first period we were a bit hurried in our possession, almost as if we wanted it a bit too much, but the second half we were better."

Bradford also recorded a fifth clean sheet on the bounce in their replay win over Aldershot, something that they last achieved in 1954.
