Baily Cargill signs new Bournemouth contract

Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill, the Cherries' first Development Squad Player of the Year winner, signs a new contract at the Goldsands Stadium until 2017.

Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill has signed a new contract at the Goldsands Stadium, which is to run until 2017.

The 17-year-old made his competitive debut for the Cherries in the League Cup first-round win at Exeter City, with manager Eddie Howe describing his performance as 'faultless'.

Cargill is quoted by the official Bournemouth website as saying: "It's not come easy. I've had to work hard for it and I think I deserve it."

The Winchester-born youngster, who also played for Leicester City and Southampton's academies, is the Cherries' first Development Squad Player of the Year winner.
