Jurgen Klopp has reportedly lodged a request to Borussia Dortmund to rip up his contract in the summer.
The 47-year-old has endured a tumultuous season with the club, who were lingering towards the relegation zone of the Bundesliga in the early stages of the campaign.
Now, Dortmund reside 10th in the standings, but reports have emerged that this could be Klopp's final season with the club.
According to Bild, Klopp, who has been Dortmund boss for the last seven years, is believed to be keen on a 12-month sabbatical.
However, the German coach has previously been linked with a move to Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Dortmund have called a press conference for 12.30pm amid reports of Klopp's potential departure.
