Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies has signed a one-year extension at the club while 12 players have come to the end of their stints at the Reebok Stadium.
There were doubts over Davies's future but the striker has quashed suggestions that he is looking for a move elsewhere by committing another year to the newly-relegated side.
Sam Ricketts has also penned a two-year deal with the club, however following the Trotters' drop into the Championship up to 11 players will not be offered new contracts.
Gretar Steinsson, Paul Robinson, Sean Davis, Robbie Blake, Ricardo Gardner, Ivan Klasnic, Mark Connolly, Tope Obadeyi, Rhys Bennett, Dino Fazlic and Tom Eckersley have all left the Reebok Stadium.
Nigel Reo-Coker has also decided to activate a release clause in his contract in order to depart from the former Premier League side.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle told the club's official website: "I was clear with Nigel. I asked him straight away whether he wanted to stay and be a part of what we are going to do next season.
"He was honest and up front with us, because that is the type of man he is, and said that he wanted to exercise the clause in his contract, and so we wish him well.
"I would also like to thank the players that are leaving the club for their work at Bolton Wanderers. We wish them all well."
Meanwhile, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight remain in contract negotiations with the club.
