Bolton boss Owen Coyle says that his side needs to do better after their 2-0 defeat to Sunderland at the Reebok Stadium.

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has admitted that his side weren't good enough during their 2-0 home defeat to Sunderland.

Late goals from Stephane Sessegnon and Nicklas Bendtner earned the Black Cats the win at the Reebok Stadium, and Coyle believes that his side can do much better.

"Take nothing away from Sunderland and how good they were in the second half," said Coyle.

"We never got to the standard that we are capable of. In the first half we felt we did very well.

"Collectively in the second half we have to do better. We never did that today."

The defeat has kept the Trotters in the relegation zone, while Sunderland have moved up into 12th place.
