Blackpool winger Thomas Ince has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following Monday's Capital One Cup defeat at Preston North End.
The 21-year-old is understood to have "made an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture towards a match official" during his side's 1-0 defeat at Deepdale.
"Blackpool's Thomas Ince has been charged by The FA in relation to an on-field incident which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video," read a statement from the FA.
"It is alleged that Ince made an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture towards a match official in the 24th minute of his side's Capital One Cup match at Preston North End on Monday August 5, 2013."
Ince has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
