Former Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam praises newly-appointed Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway.

Former Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has taken to Twitter to praise newly-appointed Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway.

Holloway was confirmed as the new Palace boss on Saturday, bringing a three-year stint with the Tangerines to an end.

Adam played under the eccentric character before moving to Liverpool in 2011 and he has branded Holloway "a terrific manager and a great person".

"Gutted to see Ollie go but he is a terrific manager and great person. Buzzing for Thommo hopefully he can show what a top coach he is," he tweeted.

Blackpool assistant Steve Thompson will take charge of their match with Derby County on Saturday.
