Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett wants two more players this month

Gary Rowett reveals that he wants to sign a centre-back and a central midfielder for Birmingham City in the final week of the January transfer window.

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has revealed that he wants to sign a centre-back and a central midfielder in the final week of the January transfer window.

The only new face that Rowett has been able to add so far this month is winger Lloyd Dyer, who is on loan from Watford until the end of the season.

"We're hoping to get a couple of bodies in this week," Rowett told the Blues' website.

"Maybe another midfielder and another centre-back in an ideal world might help give us that extra competition in those positions, but it's got to be the right ones.

"But if I don't get them I'm not going to be too worried or concerned."

Birmingham have enjoyed a turnaround since Rowett took over in October and can move into the Championship's top 10 if they win at Sheffield Wednesday later tonight.
