West Ham United are reportedly considering a January move for Sporting Lisbon winger Marcus Edwards.
The 25-year-old came through the academy at West Ham's London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but he made just one senior appearance before making a permanent move to Sporting, where the Englishman has developed into a star player.
Since January 2022, Edwards has scored 21 goals and provided 22 assists in 91 appearances for the Portuguese giants in all competitions, including six goals and five assists in 25 games so far this season.
According to The Sun, West Ham have identified Edwards as a possible target this month, with manager David Moyes desperate to reinforce his attack after being hit with an injury crisis.
Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen are both in the treatment room with respective knee and ankle problems, while Lucas Paqueta is facing six to eight weeks on the sidelines with a calf issue; Mohammed Kudus is also unavailable as he is representing Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.
West Ham have also been credited with an interest in Ajax's Steven Bergwijn, another formerly of Tottenham, and Sunderland's Jack Clarke.

Over in Germany, Bayern Munich have reportedly added Kevin Danso of Lens to their centre-back shortlist this month.
The Bundesliga giants attempted to hijack Tottenham's deal to sign Genoa defender Radu Dragusin earlier this week, but the Romanian has decided to move to the Premier League.
Eric Dier is now closing in on a move to the Allianz Arena, but journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Danso is another name on Bayern's list of targets.
Romano states that the 25-year-old had previously been a target for Bayern last summer, before he opted to extend his contract with Lens until June 2027.
Danso, a 16-cap Austria international, began his career in Germany with Augsburg before joining Lens in 2021, and he has since made a total of 98 appearances for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions.
The 6ft 3in centre-back has started 22 times for Lens so far this season, including six outings in the Champions League group stage.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa playmaker Philippe Coutinho is reportedly attracting interest from MLS outfit Inter Miami.
Coutinho is deemed surplus to requirements at Villa Park and is currently out on loan with Qatari club Al-Duail, where he has chipped in with four goals and one assist in nine appearances.
The 31-year-old still has over two years remaining on his contract at Villa, but he has seemingly played his final game for the club as he does not fit in the plans of manager Unai Emery.
According to AS, via The Sun, Coutinho could be in line for another loan move this month as David Beckham's Inter Miami hold an interest in the former Liverpool and Barcelona playmaker.
The Brazilian could be attracted by the move to Florida to play alongside former Barca teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez, the latter of whom finalised his switch to the MLS side last month.
Los Angeles Galaxy have also been credited with an interest in Coutinho, who is believed to be earning around £125,000 per week on his contract at Aston Villa.
