President Uli Hoeness says that he has not discussed potential new recruits for Bayern Munich with Pep Guardiola.

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has insisted that no transfer discussions have taken place with Pep Guardiola.

It had been reported that Guardiola, who will take charge of the German side at the end of the current campaign, had already identified the players that he would like to recruit.

Among those that were said to have been on his wishlist were Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. However, Hoeness has claimed that he is yet to talk things through with his new coach.

"The rumours about the players Guardiola desires are false," Hoeness told Bild. "Guardiola has still not called a player he would have liked. There was talk about positions which he considers could be improved on if possible, but he has not named any names.

"When I look at how strong our squad is, I don't think we need to make too many changes in the summer. I do not think that we will buy anyone in the next few years who is more expensive than [Javi] Martinez."

Neymar and Robert Lewandowski have also reportedly caught Guardiola's eye over the last 12 months.
