Philipp Lahm: 'Bayern Munich can handle Bastian Schweinsteiger exit'

Philipp Lahm insists that the loss of Bastian Schweinsteiger will not force Bayern Munich to change their approach this season.

Philipp Lahm has insisted that Bayern Munich will recover quickly from losing Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United.

Bayern agreed to allow their long-serving midfielder to join United earlier this month, but Lahm is confident that Pep Guardiola's side will not have to change their approach after the departure of his fellow World Cup winner.

"I do not think we will change our style of play because of Schweinsteiger's exit," he told reporters. "We have our own style and it does not depend on one individual player.

"We have the squad to challenge for top honours again. We have strengthened in certain areas, just like a big club should.

"We will see whether this is the strongest team toward the end of the season."

Lahm has also revealed that he would not be surprised if Thomas Muller followed Schweinsteiger to United.
