Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has insisted that his future lies with the German giants despite seeing Mario Mandzukic become the club's starting striker this season.
Gomez said that he is relishing the chance to fight for the place that he lost after picking up a bad knee injury early this season.
"Of course I am always disappointed when not used from the start, especially for big matches against the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal," Bild quotes Gomez as saying.
"I would not have signed a new deal if I was not convinced it was the right decision. I am looking forward to the future and getting back into the first team."
Gomez has netted eight times for Bayern this season.
