Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has praised his side's work ethic after their 1-0 win at Hoffenheim.

Mario Gomez scored the only goal of the game as Bayern continued their march towards the Bundesliga title.

"The game today was very difficult," Heynckes told the club's official website.

"The opponents are in trouble. They played incredibly courageously, aggressively. That was a workmanlike victory.

"We cannot score three or five goals every time. We had to roll up our sleeves and work hard."

Bayern are now 17 points clear at the top of the table, with only 10 games left to play.
