Liverpool are reportedly giving more thought to making a fresh move for Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram.
The Merseyside giants are currently enjoying an outstanding campaign in Arne Slot's first season in charge, sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
A total of 40 goals have been scored from 17 matches, the latest batch of strikes coming in the 3-1 victory over Leicester City on Boxing Day.
However, with the future of Mohamed Salah still up in the air, consideration needs to be given regarding potential replacements.

Liverpool back in for Thuram?
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are among the clubs who are interested in signing Thuram next summer.
The report suggests that the release clause of the France international is deemed to be 'affordable', even though it is set at €85m (£70.47m).
Thuram has emerged as Inter's star of the campaign thus far, contributing 13 goals and three assists from his 21 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League.
With the player possessing a contract until 2028, Inter would not necessarily have to contemplate a sale unless Liverpool or the likes of Paris Saint-Germain activate the buy-out option in his deal.
On the flip side, however, Thuram was signed on a free transfer and any sale would be of huge benefit to Inter with regards to UEFA's financial regulations.
PSG are allegedly of the opinion that Thuram could act as a direct alternative to either Goncalo Ramos or Kolo Randal Muani, the latter having been heavily linked with an exit from Parc des Princes.

Could Liverpool use Chiesa in any proposal?
Having accumulated just 123 minutes of football since joining from Juventus in the summer, it is fair to say that Federico Chiesa's move to Anfield is yet to work out.
Recent reports have indicated that a loan move back to Serie A could be in the offing with Atalanta BC among those contemplating a bid.
If Slot gave the green light to an exit for the versatile attacker, he would expect to sign a direct replacement, yet it is unrealistic to expect Thuram to be that player in January.
That said, Chiesa is someone that Inter could consider if they were to cash in on Thuram during the summer transfer window.
