Dante keen on retaining place in Bayern Munich's starting lineup

Central defender Dante is ready to work hard to continue playing regularly for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich defender Dante is determined to maintain his place in the starting lineup despite the imminent return of left-back David Alaba.

Alaba's foot injury in pre-season saw Holger Badstuber become a makeshift full-back, with Dante being deployed in central defence.

However, with the 20-year-old nearing a comeback, the Brazilian's place in Jupp Heynckes's side is under threat.

"[Alaba] is a great player," Dante told TZ. "It's amazing how far he has come for his age and he will help the team a lot.

"I'm sure that the coach will also rotate the defence. Who plays is the decision of the coach. Whatever happens, I will continue to work hard."

Dante joined Bayern from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.
