Barnsley hold Burnley at Oakwell

Marcus Tudgay earns Barnsley a point with his first goal of the season, cancelling out an early Charlie Austin strike to leave the scores level.

Barnsley ended a run of three consecutive home defeats with a hard-fought draw against Burnley.

Marcus Tudgay cancelled out an early strike from Charlie Austin to bring Barnsley level against Burnley at the break.

Sean Dyche's side were in front after just four minutes when Charlie Austin headed home at the near post after reacting quickest to a cross from Ross Wallace.

Barnsley responded well and leveled ten minutes before the break thanks to a powerful header from Tudgay.

The on-loan striker netted his first of the season when he latched onto a superb pass from Scott Golbourne.

Wallace produced the first meaningful action of a quiet second half when he forced Jason Steele to make a low save with a dipping free kick.

The Tykes grew in confidence in the closing stages but were restricted to a long-range effort from Craig Davies.

Burnley held firm in the closing stages as both sides were forced to settle for a point in the 300th match of Keith Hill's managerial career.
