Report: Jeremy Mathieu wants AS Monaco move

A report claims that Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu wants to join Ligue 1 side AS Monaco at the end of the season.

Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu is reportedly keen on a move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco at the end of the season.

The France international joined Barcelona from Valencia in the summer of 2014 and played 41 times last season as the Catalan side won the treble.

The centre-back has also made 26 appearances this term, but it is widely thought that the 32-year-old is keen to secure guaranteed first-team football at this stage of his career.

According to Fichajes.net, Mathieu has told his representatives to contact Monaco over a move this summer.

The tall defender came through the youth system at Sochaux, before joining Toulouse in 2005.
