Matthijs de Ligt has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo wants him to leave Ajax for Juventus during the summer transfer window.
The pair went up against each in the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday night as Ronaldo's Portugal ran out 1-0 victors over the Netherlands.
However, it appears that De Ligt has made a lasting impression on the forward, who also came up against the youngster when their respective clubs met in the Champions League quarter-finals in April.
In response to Ronaldo speaking to him after Sunday's game, De Ligt told NOS: "That could be true, yes. I didn't understand him at first. I was a little shocked, so I laughed, but I didn't say anything.
"Shortly after the game you are not at all concerned with it, you are disappointed you have lost and that is the only thing you are thinking about."
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are regarded as the two most likely destinations for De Ligt.
