Bayern Munich are reportedly on the verge of securing the signature of Noussair Mazraoui on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old has again been a vital player for Ajax during the 2021-22 campaign, making 33 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and four assists in the process.
Mazraoui will leave his Dutch club on a free transfer at the end of June, and a number of clubs have been linked with his services in recent months.
At one stage, Barcelona looked to be the strong favourites for the Morocco international, but Bayern have recently overtaken the Catalan giants in the race for his signature.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Bundesliga champions reached a verbal agreement with Mazraoui 'weeks ago', and the club are now set to complete a deal 'soon'.
Romano claims that Bayern want the move confirmed 'as soon as possible', as they are fearful that other teams could attempt to hijack a deal.
Mazraoui has made 135 appearances for Ajax since breaking into the first team in 2018, contributing 10 goals and nine assists in the process.
