Barcelona are reportedly set to lose out to Bayern Munich in the race to sign Noussair Mazraoui on a free transfer from Ajax.
The Morocco international has again been a key player for his Dutch club during the 2021-22 campaign, making 32 appearances in all competitions, contributing five goals and four assists in the process.
The 24-year-old's contract in Amsterdam will expire at the end of June, though, and he will leave in search of pastures new, with Barcelona thought to be in pole position to sign him.
However, according to Marca, Bayern are offering Mazraoui a more lucrative deal to move to Allianz Arena, and the German champions are on the verge of reaching an agreement with the defender.
The report claims that Barcelona 'cannot afford to be dragged into a bidding war' for the Moroccan due to their financial issues and are instead preparing to pursue alternative targets.
Mazraoui has scored 10 goals and registered nine assists in 134 appearances for Ajax since making his debut for the Dutch giants in 2018.
