Barcelona will reportedly launch a bid worth £21m to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl next summer.
The Catalan club has placed emphasis on revolutionising its midfield options next summer, with Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal both expected to leave.
Weigl, a holding midfielder, has become an indispensable member of the Dortmund side since making his debut in 2015, starting 10 Bundesliga games this term.
According to Sport, Barcelona are willing to meet Weigl's valuation of £21m ahead of next summer's transfer window.
The 24-year-old is viewed as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, who turns 32 at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
Barcelona have also reportedly pinpointed Brescia and Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali as a potential long-term replacement for the Spaniard.
