Barcelona attacker Pedro has insisted that Xavi will still play a key role for the club this season.
The 34-year-old has played just 17 minutes for the Catalan outfit in the league this campaign, with new signing Ivan Rakitic preferred in the Spaniard's midfield role.
However, Pedro, who has also described Xavi as "a living legend of Barca", believes that the veteran midfielder will still be "a major player" for the Spanish side this term.
"Xavi is a living legend of Barca," he told reporters at a press conference.
"He is the captain in the locker room and his words and presence has weight. He's at peace with his situation. He will still be a major player for us this season."
