Barcelona starlet Pedri has suffered a fresh setback in his bid to return from a quad injury.
The 18-year-old initially sustained the problem against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and but briefly managed to return to face Benfica on September 29 before exacerbating the issue.
Pedri was thought to have been closing in on a return to action ahead of Wednesday's battle with Rayo Vallecano, but according to Sport, the midfielder has suffered more frustration in his bid to work his way back to fitness.
The report claims that new scans on the injury have shown that Pedri's scar has not healed properly, and the teenager is now not expected back until after the next international break.
Ronald Koeman is also without Ousmane Dembele, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong and Martin Braithwaite for the time being, while Ansu Fati also took a knock to the foot in El Clasico.
Pedri's breakthrough season with Barcelona saw him chalk up four goals and six assists from 52 appearances in all competitions, which saw him rewarded with a new five-year contract including a €1bn (£842.2m) release clause earlier this month.
