Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is still hopeful that Ousmane Dembele will commit his future to the club.
The France international - who is yet to make an appearance this season after undergoing surgery in the summer - is yet to extend his stay at Camp Nou beyond the summer of 2022.
As a result, Barca could come under increasing pressure to sell Dembele in January before he walks away on a free transfer in the summer, but Koeman hopes to see the attacker remain at Camp Nou.
"We want Ousmane Dembele to stay with us, he is an important player, our goal is for him to renew," Koeman told reporters at a recent press conference.
"If he does not, we have to speak as a club what the best way forward is. Still, we have not spoken of what our strategy will be if he doesn't renew."
Dembele has registered 30 goals and 21 assists from 118 appearances in a Barcelona shirt, but he will not be ready for Wednesday's La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano.
