Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Alaves

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Alaves.

Fresh from conceding the La Liga title to Real Madrid, Barcelona will round off their 2019-20 domestic season with a trip to Alaves on Sunday afternoon.

Madrid's 2-1 win over Villarreal on Thursday saw Zinedine Zidane's side secure the title, while Barca suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to Osasuna on the same night.

Despite the disappointment of finishing second in the table, the Catalan giants will be determined to end their domestic season on a positive note when they head to Alaves on the final weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barca's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Ousmane Dembele

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Dembele has struggled with injuries throughout the season, making just five La Liga appearances and nine in all competitions. The Frenchman has been out since the end of November with his latest hamstring issue, and he will not be able to return for the Spanish champions until next season.

Samuel Umtiti

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: July 19 (vs. Alaves)

Umtiti has missed Barca's last four matches with a knee problem, and it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman is available for this particular game. Injures have restricted the centre-back to just 13 La Liga appearances this term, and he has recently been linked with a summer exit.

Antoine Griezmann

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: July 19 (vs. Alaves)

Griezmann was replaced at the interval of last weekend's with Real Valladolid due to 'discomfort in his quadriceps'. The France international missed out against Osasuna and is again a major doubt for this game, with reports suggesting that he could instead make his return in the Champions League next month.

Rakitic is also suspended for Barca's final league match of the season due to the booking that he picked up in the 57th minute of the surprise home defeat to Osasuna.

Junior Firpo
