Augsburg earn a point at home against Schalke in the Bundesliga as they draw 0-0 with the Royal Blues.

Schalke have been held to a goalless draw by Augsburg away from home in the Bundesliga.

The home side did most of the running in the opening exchanges, with Tobias Werner, Ji Dong-Won and Koo Ja-Cheol trying their luck in the first 20 minutes.

Thereafter, Schalke found their rhythm at the SGL Arena, Jefferson Farfan forcing Augsburg goalkeeper Alexander Manninger into making a good save.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar tested Manninger six minutes before the half-time interval, and Joel Matip headed Christian Fuchs's cross just over the crossbar at the start of the second period.

Moments later Tobias Werner fired a shot from distance but narrowly failed to find the Schalke goal.

Chances came thick and fast at both ends as the second half progressed, with Lewis Holtby drawing out a save from Manninger and Sascha Molders hitting the post for Augsburg in the 69th minute.
