Report: Atletico Madrid to keep Thomas Partey

A report claims that Atletico Madrid will not allow Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey to leave the club on loan this summer.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has reportedly earmarked Thomas Partey as a key part of his plans for the 2015-16 campaign.

The 22-year-old has been with Atletico since 2011, but has not yet made his first-team debut for the Spanish giants.

Last season, the Ghana midfielder scored four league goals in 31 games for Almeria and proved to be one of the most impressive performers in the second half of the campaign.

According to AS, Getafe and Rayo Vallecano both made enquiries over a move this summer, but both were informed that Thomas would be required at Atletico during the 2015-16 season.

Thomas could fill Mario Suarez's spot in the squad, with the Spaniard strongly linked with a move to Serie A.
