Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has insisted that Luciano Vietto and Jackson Martinez contributed to Sunday's 2-0 win at Eibar.
The attacking pair were selected alongside Antoine Griezmann for the La Liga clash, but both were replaced at the interval as Simeone looked for a different threat.
The Argentine has said that the substitutions were not a punishment, but he needed players that could "break" the match in the second half.
"[Luciano] Vietto and Jackson Martinez are working well. At Atletico, the individuals are at the entire team's service. If they hadn't done their job in the first half, we wouldn't have had such a good second. We have an important squad, as we showed in Seville and Turkey," Simeone told reporters.
"In the first half, we had three chances that we couldn't take. The game, despite Eibar's intensity, was played more in our opponents' box.
"In the second half, we focused on the players who could 'break' the match, and Correa's introduction unbalanced a tough and difficult game."
Angel Correa and Fernando Torres came off the bench to score for Atletico at the Ipurua.
