Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has said that Thomas Partey is "in the process of becoming a top player".
Thomas, 22, scored the only goal of the match as Atletico beat Reus Deportiu in the second leg of their last-32 clash in the Copa del Rey last week.
The midfielder returned to Atletico in the summer following a successful loan spell at Almeria, and Simeone has backed the Ghanaian to develop into "a top player" in the Spanish capital.
"Thomas [Partey] continues to grow. He is still a young lad but has strength, movement and can play between the lines. He's in the process of becoming a top player and I hope I can help him with what he needs to grow," Simeone told reporters.
Thomas, who has also previously spent time on loan at Mallorca, signed a long-term contract with Atletico in 2011.
