Getafe and Atletico Madrid remain goalless following the first half of their Copa del Rey last-16 second-leg tie at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Getafe and Atletico Madrid have both failed to make the breakthrough in the opening half of their Copa del Rey last-16 second-leg tie at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

However, Atletico remain in control of the contest thanks to a 3-0 first-leg win on their home turf.

Following a frantic opening period, the visitors almost broke the deadlock when Raul Garcia flashed a shot narrowly wide with 30 minutes on the clock.

Getafe's job was made more difficult soon after as Rafa Gomez was shown a straight red card for his reckless challenge on Radamel Falcao.

The defender failed to win the ball with his wild tackle and he was duly dismissed by the referee.

Falcao and Arda Turan both had chances at the end of the half for Atletico, but they were both denied by defender David Abraham.
