Jan Oblak: 'The best team won'

Jan Oblak concedes that Atletico Madrid did not do enough to beat Real Madrid and progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has said that Real Madrid deserved to progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League last night.

Javier Hernandez rolled an 88th-minute winner past Oblak at the Bernabeu as Real beat their bitter rivals 1-0 on aggregate following a goalless first leg.

Arda Turan was sent off for the visitors on 76 minutes after picking up a second yellow card and, while the Slovenian admits that it was a key moment, the Atleti stopper concedes that the Blancos deserved victory overall.

"Of course we're not happy, but this is football. You can't always win," he told AS.

"We have six finals in the league. We get our heads up and we will do better in the league. We have to lift ourselves and go forward. Hopefully we improve in the league.

"This is a credit to everyone. Today we suffered. We didn't want to suffer, we wanted to score, but unfortunately, we didn't. Of course [Arda Turan's red card] complicated life. But if happened. The weekend is another game."

Carlo Ancelotti's side will face Juventus, Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the last four.
