Paul Lambert: 'I couldn't ask for more from my team'

Aston Villa coach Paul Lambert says that he couldn't ask for any more from his players following their positive start to the Premier League campaign.

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has praised his players following their strong start to the Premier League season.

Lambert's side have four points from two games, with their latest good result a point at home to Alan Pardew's Newcastle United earlier this afternoon.

"I couldn't ask the lads for any more," Lambert told BT Sport.

"But bearing in mind we've got Benteke to come back, [Libor] Kozak to come back, I'm pretty sure if one of them was there we'd have got at least a couple of goals.

"Christian should start training after the international break and we'll see how he is."

Villa currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table.
