Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger suggests that discussions are currently being held regarding a possible new deal for midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that discussions are underway regarding a possible new contract for Mesut Ozil.

Despite having just over six months remaining on his contract, Ozil remains a key part of Wenger's first-team squad, with the German contributing two goals and five assists in 13 Premier League appearances this season.

Ozil has been tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium next summer, but Wenger has suggested that the North Londoners are doing all they can to keep the playmaker at the club.

The Frenchman told reporters: "Negotiations are always going on with everybody. Our door is always open. For the rest, I can not tell you much more."

A report has claimed that Arsenal are prepared to offer improved terms to Ozil.
