RB Leipzig chief confirms Dominik Szoboszlai interest

RB Leipzig chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff confirms that his side are interested in Dominik Szoboszlai but remains coy over rumours of a January move for the midfielder.

RB Leipzig chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that the Bundesliga powerhouses are keeping tabs on Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

A recent report claimed that Leipzig are now at the head of the queue to sign the highly-rated Hungarian, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Now, Mintzlaff has revealed that Julian Nagelsmann's side are indeed interested in Szoboszlai, but the Leipzig chief remained coy on whether or not a potential January deal could be struck.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Mintzlaff said: "He is someone we find very interesting. I can say that we are concerned with him.

"You can gaze into a crystal ball and know more than I do. We are not the only ones [who are interested]."

Szoboszlai, who has scored eight goals and set up nine more in the current campaign, supposedly has a release clause of £22.5m in his current Salzburg deal which must be triggered by any interested clubs before the end of the year.
