Everton are reportedly ready to rival Arsenal for the signing of Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall during the January transfer window.

Everton have reportedly identified Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall as a potential addition during the January transfer window.

Since returning from a loan spell at Rangers, Worrall has reestablished himself as a key figure in the centre of the Forest backline.

However, the form of the 22-year-old has led to interest in his signature, with Arsenal having already been linked with an approach at the beginning of 2020.

According to Football Insider, Everton are ready to rival the Gunners for the Englishman, who has made 19 starts in all competitions this season.

After the departure of Phil Jagielka during the summer, the Toffees left themselves short in the middle of the defence by failing to bring in a replacement for the veteran.

With Forest currently competing for promotion to the Premier League, the East Midlands outfit are likely to fight to keep Worrall until at least the end of the season.
