Mohamed Elneny advised to leave Arsenal in January

Mohamed Elneny "needs to leave Arsenal in the next transfer market", according to a former coach of the midfielder.

Mohamed Elneny "needs to leave Arsenal in the next transfer market", according to Hamdy Nouh, coach of the midfielder's former team El Mokawloon.

Elneny signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal in March, but has only made one Premier League appearance for the Gunners during the 2018-19 campaign.

Nouh has advised Elneny to seek either a loan or permanent move in the January transfer window in order to "regain his confidence".

"He needs to leave Arsenal in the next transfer market, at least on loan to play more and regain his confidence," Nouh told Goal.com.

"He has been influenced lately by the change in coach and his new style, but I am confident that he will return better than before, because of his great potential and the competitive spirit that will help him get back in."

Elneny, who has been linked with Leicester City, has made five Europa League appearances for Arsenal this term.

The 26-year-old moved to the Emirates Stadium from Basel in January 2016.
