Arsenal are willing to pay a total of £19.2m to push through a deal for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez this month, according to a report.
The Gunners are locked in talks with the Spanish champions over an initial loan deal for Suarez with the option to make it permanent later this year.
Barca are believed to be prepared to offload the out-of-favour midfielder in the January window, but Arsenal cannot fund the transfer until the summer.
According to The Mirror, however, Unai Emery's side will hand over £1.7m to take the 25-year-old on loan for the next five months, before then paying £17.5m at the end of the season.
Suarez is considered to be Arsenal's only major target in the January window, with Emery desperate to pad out his midfield, and the Spanish midfielder favours a switch to North London after falling down the pecking order at Camp Nou.
Just two of Suarez's eight appearances this season have come in La Liga, both from the bench.
