Arsenal are poised to make a £10m offer for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams, according to a report.

The Wales international has been linked with a move to the Gunners throughout the summer, but manager Arsene Wenger has taken his time over a making a bid.

However, Thomas Vermaelen's injury setback has caused Wenger to reconsider his defensive options and he is now set to do his utmost to bring Williams to the Emirates Stadium, reports the Daily Star.

Williams made 41 appearances for the Swans in all competitions last season.
