Emmanuel Adebayor 'axed from Tottenham Hotspur matchday squad'

Emmanuel Adebayor is reportedly dropped from Tottenham Hotspur's matchday squad to face Arsenal.

Emmanuel Adebayor has reportedly been dropped from Tottenham Hotspur's matchday squad for Saturday's clash with Arsenal, only days after his proposed loan move to West Ham United was blocked.

On Thursday, the Togo international stated that Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy had vetoed his temporary switch to Upton Park because the Hammers are a direct rival in the race for a top-four finish.

According to The Mirror, the 30-year-old has now been left out of the 18-man squad for the visit of the Gunners to White Hart Lane.

Furthermore, it is thought that Adebayor is readying himself for the possibility of being frozen out of the first-team picture at Spurs for the remainder of the season.

Adebayor reportedly turned down moves to Crystal Palace, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers prior to the blocking of his deal with West Ham.
