Ray Parlour impressed by "brilliant" Tottenham Hotspur

Ray Parlour admits that it is hard not to be impressed by Tottenham Hotspur this season due to their high-intensity playing levels right across the field.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has admitted that he has been impressed by the way in which Tottenham Hotspur have mounted a Premier League title charge this season.

The Lilywhites are second in the table, sitting five points adrift of leaders Leicester City with four games to go.

Parlour, who spent 12 years of his senior career at Arsenal, is backing his ex-club's North London rivals to continue their charge next week when taking on West Bromwich Albion.

Speaking to Betsafe, the 43-year-old said: "What can I say about Tottenham? It is difficult because I am an ex-Arsenal player, but they are playing so well. That midfield, where I used to play, is so good. With Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Moussa Dembele, they have so much good movement in there.

"The runners from midfield, Eriksen and Alli, the fullbacks are able to bomb on and the two centre-halves are solid. What a season for Spurs, absolutely brilliant. This [will be] an easy win for me. It's at White Hart Lane, they are going for the title and it will be an easy three points."

Parlour also expects Arsenal to pick up back-to-back wins in order to nail down a Champions League spot, but only if certain key figures perform at their highest levels at the Stadium of Light against relegation-threatened Sunderland on Sunday.

"Arsenal need their big players to turn up - Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey," he added. "Maybe even Jack Wilshere could be back which will be a big boost for Arsenal.

"They need to get out there and start well. If they play like they did against Everton and Tottenham away and start well, there will be no problems."

Arsenal's victory over West Bromwich Albion on Thursday night leaves them four points ahead of Manchester United and two in front of Manchester City in third.
