Arsene Wenger hails "magnificent" Mesut Ozil

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger heaps praise on Mesut Ozil following the German's display against Crystal Palace.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that Mesut Ozil produced a "magnificent" performance during Arsenal's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace this afternoon.

The Germany international was widely criticised in the wake of last weekend's 2-0 home defeat against West Ham United.

However, he responded today to set up one of his side's two goals at Selhurst Park - something that pleased his manager.

"He made many runs behind without the ball. He mixed up his game because usually he comes for the ball," Wenger told reporters.

"He had a very good performance. It's a pleasure to watch his passing. He was absolutely magnificent."

Ozil, 26, joined the Gunners from Real Madrid for £42.4m in September 2013.
