Wojciech Szczesny: 'Liverpool defeat is unacceptable'

Wojciech Szczesny admits that Arsenal's 5-1 thrashing at Liverpool on Saturday was "unacceptable".

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has admitted that the team's 5-1 thrashing at Liverpool on Saturday was "unacceptable".

The Gunners saw their Premier League title challenge dealt a blow at Anfield as they were swept aside by the Merseysiders.

"We didn't enjoy it at all," Szczesny told the club's official website.

"We didn't turn up for the first half and we got punished so there's a lesson there to be learnt but we've got to turn up quickly and focus on the next game.

"We represent one of the biggest clubs in the world and what we did early on is not acceptable. We said that at half time, we went out in the second half with a different attitude and it was much more of an even game."

Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign on Wednesday when they welcome Manchester United to the Emirates Stadium.
