Roberto Martinez: 'I don't expect Arsenal to have Champions League hangover'

Roberto Martinez does not expect Arsenal to have a Champions League hangover when they face Everton at the Emirates this weekend.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he expects the Arsenal side to be fresh when the two teams go head to head this weekend, despite the Gunners playing Bayern Munich in midweek.

Arsene Wenger's men sealed a 2-0 victory over the Bundesliga giants in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Prior to that, Arsenal had won five of their last six Premier League games while Everton head to the Emirates this weekend on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.

"I wouldn't say a team as experienced as Arsenal will suffer a hangover," Martinez told reporters in today's press conference.

"When you play two games in a week, you hope it will allow us to be fresh but I don't expect it to have a negative effect on Arsenal. They have a big enough squad to find fresh legs."

Arsenal are currently second in the table, six points above ninth-placed Everton.
